Gulfstream G550, G500, G450 and G350 Business Jets Receive Approval From The Federal Aviation Administration to Fly Predetermined Approaches. SAVANNAH, Ga., January 2, 2008 - Gulfstream has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the company’s PlaneView® - equipped business jets – the G550, G500, G450 and G350 – to fly “Required Navigation Performance Special Aircraft and Aircrew Authorization Required” (RNP SAAAR) airport approaches.

CL-60 jet crashed on takeoff in Almaty

ASTANA. December 26. KAZINFORM. A CL-60 aircraft belonging to private operator Jet Connection had a takeoff accident in the international airport of Almaty city on Wednesday, Kaziform refers to the press service of the Kazakh Emergency Ministry. The plane was on a flight Hannover – Almaty – Macao. An accident took place during a takeoff roll after refueling.

Cessna looks back at 2007 year

Cessna acquired a company – Columbia Aircraft Manufacturing Company – with the intent of continuing production of its two high-performance, composite single-engine piston aircraft. On Dec. 5, the Columbia products were branded the Cessna 350 and the Cessna 400, and approximately 400 employees at the Bend, Ore., manufacturing facility became Cessna employees.

Lufthansa' offer private jet service

Demand for individual, flexible air travel is so strong that Lufthansa is expanding its premium service. The company is investing in its own private jets to augment the existing Lufthansa Private Jet service. The new aircraft will be purchased next year and fitted with exclusive interiors. Lufthansa’s own jets are expected to go into service in spring 2008.

Plane crashes in Ukraine killing 5 on board

KIEV (Reuters) - A small chartered plane flying from the Czech Republic to Kiev crashed near the Ukrainian capital on Sunday killing all five people on board, Ukraine´s emergency ministry said. The plane crashed near Kiev´s second and smaller airport, Zhulyani, in a field 300 meters (yards) from a main road. No one on the ground was hurt, the ministry´s spokesman said.

5000th Cessna Citation Jet Enters Service

XOJET, the world’s fastest-growing private aviation company, announced that it has taken delivery of Cessna’s 5,000th Citation business jet. The aircraft delivery took place in Wichita, Kansas last week. The aircraft was immediately put into service in the XOJET fleet, completing its first two customer flights within 18 hours of delivery.

Embraer gets the largest Phenom executive jet order

Embraer and Flight Options, one of the largest private jet service companies in the world signed a contract for the acquisition of 100 Phenom 300 aircraft, with options for an additional 50 aircraft of the same model. This is the Company’s largest Phenom executive jet order, worth US $ 746 million at 2007 list price, and could reach US $ 1.12 billion, if all options are exercised.

LJ Aviation First Company to Offer Cessna Citation Mustang Charter Flights

Cessna Aircraft Company announced that the first charter certificate for the Citation Mustang has been issued to L.J. Aviation. Based at Latrobe, Pa., L.J. Aviation offers domestic and international charter flights using a fleet of 28 aircraft, including 11 Citations: one Mustang, three Bravos, two Ultras, one Encore, one VII, two Excels and one Sovereign. The fleet will soon be expanded with one Citation CJ3 and one Citation XLS+.

Bombardier Global 5000 Sets New Transatlantic Speed Record

The high-speed Global 5000 jet set a new speed record on October 21, flying 3,652 nautical miles (6,765 km) non-stop from Berlin to Washington in just eight hours, 17 minutes. The Global 5000 business jet departed Berlin´s Schonefeld Airport (EDDB) with a three-person crew and a payload equivalent to 12 passengers – a fuel surplus of 1,200 pounds (544 kg) above reserves and seven passengers.
